I grew up at the gateway of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado and went to undergrad at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
I've lived in romantic Florence, Italy and the mountains of Vail, CO…I moved to San Francisco's Cole Valley. Then in 2004, I found a home that changed me forever…New York City.
As a Design Director for some of the largest American brands I learned about style, branding, forecasting, photo shoots, marketing, editorial, lifestyle, production, staging, merchandising, and much more.
Eight wonderful years of living in Manhattan, breathing the city, loving the life, the food, the culture, the beauty, the music, and completely engrossing myself in the business of fashion.
In March 2011, I declared a sabbatical from it all…resigned, moved, and set out for the next chapter.
Back to the west coast...it's better out here ;)
While I travel around looking for a new place to call home, I will share all that stimulates my senses. Relishing in the beauty, the inspiring, and the romance, as well as; exposing a bit of the ugly, the design challenged, and the trash.
Roarhaha is:
exploring the world over
exposing the truth
embellishing a wardrobe
exciting the senses
establishing an empire
enjoying every second

Shopping Terrain in PA makes me feel like anything is possible. It makes me feel like I am in a la la land where retail stores really do care about me…and they really want me to live a happier life surrounded by beauty…extravagant gardens…elegant soaps….
If you haven’t made it to Terrain, it is an absolute must. They are owned by the Urban Outfitters corporation which is also the parent company of Anthropologie and Free People.
The above collage shows about a quarter of soaps they offer in their body section. Although the soaps are fantastic (I bought several) the packaging is really what got me.
Packaging is just as important as the product, if not even more so. These designs are fresh, organic, romantic, whimsical, and fantastical. In a store like Terrain where they sell several brands of soap, it is only the packaging that speaks directly to the customers. It’s their only chance to grab our attention…It better make a lasing impression if they want to succeed.

Ceramic rose wall behind the reception. Perfectly tactile, stark, and fresh all at once.

In Madrid, Spain I had the pleasure of staying in the Hotel Unico. The interiors were remarkable; mixing a clean black and white pallet with pops of mint accented with glass mosaics. The surfaces were both high shine, matte, and brushed.
Texture, Surface interest, and a clean pallet=beautiful!

We were driving down Woodstock Road in Woodstock, VT looking for “Vermont looking barns” and stopped, actually slammed on our brakes to eat at this cute fish shack. Quintessential Vermont, The White Cottage Snack Bar. It was perfect! Besides the view of the river, both the Lobster Roll and the Scallop Roll was fresh and perfectly seasoned.
This place has a great look. I love that it’s not pretending to be anything but exactly what it is, a fish shack on the side of the road in Vermont.

The gold chandelier at the Broadmoor Hotel has such fluidity and grace it’s an accessory to the room. Taking inspiration from this piece could easily transform its self into a complete jewelry collection.
Which reminds a bit of Alexander Calder’s jewelry masterpieces. Calder was commonly know for his abstract mobiles, but his jewelry was outstanding. Large sculpture pieces that took on a life of their own.

When I stayed at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, CO. I walked around for days taking pictures of the details. This one chandelier in particular blew me away.
